On Monday, December 15th, we flew from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
to Entebbe, Uganda. This is Lake Victoria, which is near the airport.
It's the biggest lake in Africa and 2nd largest fresh water lake in the world!
Uganda is GREEN all year round!
When we got to Kampala, we stopped at the Nakumatt Oasis
Mall to get some of Nanci Wudel's frozen yogurt. Yum!!
Nanci's picture is on the bag… We went back on our anniversary
and asked to see one of their mixes.
This is a VERY common sight. These are matookes,
small green bananas with an entirely different taste than
the regular bananas.
Bikes are really LOADED!

On Tuesday, December 16th (my birthday), we
drove seven hours from Kampala to the Mweya Safari Lodge
in Queen Elizabeth State Park. This is the main gate to the park.
This is Elder and Sister Hannan, humanitarian
missionaries from New York State. We stayed in
their apartment the first and last night we were in Uganda.

Warthogs wandered around behind our room the first night
The view of the Kazinga Channel between Lake George
and Lake Edward from where we ate out on the patio.
I LOVE the brightly colored little birds in Ethiopia
and in Uganda.
